I guess they stick with what they can do best. I know I try to vary what I paint but it doesn’t always happen.

No, I’m not sick of it at all. Most of these things (except for the anime) are part of nature’s beauty and I never tire of that. Most artists see beauty in the tiniest thing, or pattern, or design. I’ll never tire of a beautiful sunset.

Ask one to draw the entire horse and they would look at me as if to ask “Why? Why bother?” And all of their friends would gather and gush about what fantastic artists they were.
And I would sit aside and watch, quietly, (probably out of shyness) aghast, knowing that, not only could I draw the entire horse out of memory, but that I could pick from a variety of horse TYPES, from work horses, Percherons, thouroughbreds, cow ponies and others!
I too have my faves: cartoons and fantasy art. I do these for fun! But I don’t get a lot of paychecks by limiting myself to those.
I’ve since grown thicker skin and can take comfort knowing that there are very few paying clients that will make a search to find that one little girl who can draw pretty little pony heads. They contact me, and they can get any part of the horse they want.
Or the goat, or the puma, or the plow, or the Corvette, or the salami, or the tree, or the house, or the child, or the …..
